Several years ago, I saw the movie "Julie and Julia", a fun comedy about a young blogger named Julie who takes on the challenge of cooking all of the recipes in Julia Child's cookbook in 365 days. I immediately thought this was a great idea! I was ready to buy the cookbook and do the same thing. However, I have three little kids and I knew that more than half of the dishes I would be making would receive comments similar to "ewww, what IS that?" I love cooking and really like trying new recipes, but nothing is more discouraging than having your kids complain about a dish they have never tried. So I quickly dismissed the idea.

Now, many years later, I have revisited this idea. But I am doing it
my way. I have discovered a fantastic cookbook called
Our Best Bites: Mormon Moms in the Kitchen by Sara Wells and Kate Jones. (Yes, I am a Mormon, but that has nothing to do with why I love this cookbook so much.) The reason that I love this cookbook is because everyone in my house typically eats everything I try from it. This, my friends, is huge. HUGE, I say.
But now I'm taking this cookbook to the next level. I'm not just going to continue to remake my favorites, I am going to make them
all. Amazon tells me that there are more than 150 recipes, so here we go!
As I create in my kitchen, I will blog about each adventure and recipe. Now if you're looking for a smartly written blog with beautiful pictures, you need to visit Sara and Kate at OurBestBites.com. They're truly pros at this. I am merely a mom who is going to have a little fun with a cookbook, computer, and camera.
The adventure with Sara, Kate, and me...begins in the morning!
