Recipe #54 - Apple Cider Syrup

At the beginning of each week, I typically sit down with my cookbook and put sticky note tabs on all the recipes that I plan to make during the week.  Then I use that to make my shopping list.  Today's recipe was not on this week's plan, but it was a chilly, fall, Saturday morning and I just needed to try this recipe.

It is for Apple Cider Syrup, and you can find it on page 69 of the cookbook.  Sorry, folks, it doesn't appear to be online.

You start with these delicious ingredients.

You combine them all in a sauce pan.

Then you cook over medium heat until it thickens up.  This took me about 20 minutes or so.

If time is an issue, you can make this in advance and store it in the fridge for up to a week.

It made about 2 cups of syrup.

Then we whipped up a batch of waffles and poured on the syrup.  Oh nelly!  This stuff is tasty!

My entire family gobbled it up!  I want to try it over french toast too.  Ooo, or maybe on vanilla ice cream.  Oh!  Over apple pie a la mode.  I feel myself getting fatter already.
